Camp 2021 Update

While we were unable to run camp in Summer 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions, we anticipate going ahead with plans for Summer 2021. So, we have a few changes in order to make camping both safe and fun for everyone. We will not be having any weekend stay-over camping. If campers choose to come to camp for 2 weeks, they will be required to go home between weeks. This is to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting to take place.

Also, in order to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting, our weeks have changed from Sunday to Friday. Please watch for the new camp dates, coming soon.

Dining Hall Renovations

The existing Dining Hall was built in 1961 and was in need of renovations to bring it up to current standards and also improve its’ functionality in light of todays’ changing expectations. When built in 1961 it was placed on concrete blocks set on the ground. Over the years it had shifted, sagged and tilted. Surprisingly the building was still fairly solid. However it did need some major improvements.

Before any improvements could be made, the building needed to be set on a solid foundation. The building was raised, a solid concrete foundation poured, new beams added and the building was set back down on the new foundation.

Since that was completed, other work was done to re-design of the front of the building which included new flooring, new steel roof, new kitchen oven, new suppression hood over stoves, and several other upgrades. These improvements not only enhanced the experience but provided for improved accessibility.
